SEO for affiliate marketing success

What most people get wrong when they start writing a blog and monetising with affiliate marketing, is that they focus on volume.

But you need a LOT of volume to monetise a blog. If you are using display ads, you will on average earn $15-20 per 1000 views. So to make $1000 you need 50,000 page views!

A more savvy approach is to focus less on volume and more on purchase intent. By that I mean people who are ready to purchase a product you are promoting as an affiliate. Someone with the problem the product solves.

Using this strategy, I've made thousands of dollars with blog posts that get < 300 page views a month.

I was able to earn >$5K/month in affiliate revenue from blog posts alone - with a smallish blog!
